Everything you need to know about paying for a course with us, including how the payment plan works, how to pay early, and what to do if a payment doesn’t go through. Most questions are answered here, so please have a read before getting in touch.

Two ways to pay

When you book, you can either pay the full course fee at checkout or choose the payment plan. Both options are shown on the course page next to the price. Whichever you choose, your place is confirmed as soon as your first payment goes through and you’ll receive an order confirmation by email.

How the payment plan works

The payment plan lets you spread the fee over several smaller payments. You pay a deposit at checkout and the remaining instalments are taken automatically from the same card on set dates. Those dates are shown on the course page before you book, so you can see exactly what will be charged and when.

One thing to be aware of: the instalment dates are fixed for each course and are the same for everyone, no matter when you book. If you book close to one of those dates, you’ll see two payments fairly close together. The total you pay is the same, it’s just that the first gap is shorter.

The full fee needs to be paid before the course starts. The plan can’t be extended beyond the start date.

Paying your balance early

You can pay off your remaining balance, or one or more instalments, whenever you like. Log in to My Account and click My Payments in the account menu. Find your course and click View. You’ll see your full payment schedule, and at the top of it a set of buttons: “Pay for Remaining installment(s)” clears everything in one go, or choose “Pay for 1 installment(s)”, “Pay for 2 installment(s)” and so on to pay just some of them now. The rest of your plan carries on as normal. There’s no need to email us to arrange this.

Can I change the payment dates?

The dates on the plan can’t be changed to a different schedule, but you can always pay earlier than the dates shown using the steps above. If the plan dates don’t suit, the other option is to pay in full at checkout.

Updating your card

If your card has expired or been replaced, go to My Account, then My Payments, click View beside your course and choose Change Payment Method. Future instalments will be taken from the new card.

If your card is declined at checkout

This happens more often than you might think, and it is almost always the bank rather than the website. The usual causes are:

Your bank’s security check didn’t complete. Most Irish banks now send a notification to your banking app or a code by text when you pay online. If that step times out or the popup is blocked, the payment fails. Check your banking app for a pending approval and try again.

The browser. Payments made from inside an app (for example a link opened inside Facebook or Instagram) often fail because the bank’s security window can’t open. Copy the link into Safari or Chrome and try again there. A private or incognito window also helps if you’ve had a failed attempt already.

The card. Check the expiry date and the three digit code, and make sure the card is enabled for online payments. If you have a second card, try that.

If it still won’t go through after trying another browser and another card, email us with the course name and a description of what you saw on screen (a screenshot is ideal) and we’ll help.

If a scheduled instalment doesn’t go through

Occasionally an instalment fails on its due date, usually because the card has expired, been replaced, or the bank blocked the charge. If this happens, your plan will show as Overdue under My Payments. Click View, then click Pay for beside the instalment that’s due, and it will take you straight to checkout for that amount. Your place on the course is not affected, but the balance does need to be cleared before the course starts.

Receipts and invoices

Your order confirmation email is your receipt and shows the full breakdown of what you’ve paid and what is still due. If you need a formal invoice for your employer or for your records, email us with your order number and we’ll send one on.

Cancellations and transfers

Our cancellation and transfer terms are set out on each course page. All requests need to be made in writing by email.

Still stuck?

If you’ve been through the steps above and something still isn’t working, email [email protected] with your name, the course you booked, your order number if you have one, and a screenshot of any error message. That gives us everything we need to sort it out quickly.
